Never the Right Sentiment

How can a person have HUNDREDS--literally HUNDREDS--of sentiment stamps and still not have the right one for such a simple card? I'd like to know because this happens to me ALL THE FREAKIN' TIME.

And no, I'm not going to use my computer. I'd rather whine and keep buying stamps.

This card (a variation on the holly card here) almost totally works for me, but I wish the Joy stamp had a cleaner font that was a just a tiny bit heavier. It's really too light here. Using PTI's Turning a New Leaf is so much fun though. Very simple, very easy. I foresee much easy beauty coming from that set. Nichole Heady is a complete genius. I want to be her when I grow up.

To all my readers in the US, I hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving!

  3. susan,
    this card is exquisite!
and i think it would be just as perfect without any sentiment. the little bow and the sparkles are all it needs.
    have a great thanksgiving!

  4. Beautiful card, Susan! As always!
Can you tell me what your cardstock preference is for your cards? They always look so sturdy, yet elegant.
    Happy Thanksgiving.

  5. I agree completely with you on both counts - never seem to have quite the right stamp, but don't want to (am afraid to, actually) use my computer! Gorgeous card !I have orders for 400 cards (all to be done in the next two weeks), so simple is going to be the name of the game. Gotta go start cutting some paper!!

  7. You're right, Marty. This card would work better without a sentiment altogether.

    Sigh.

  11. DUDE! I am seriously with you! AND, how can I have hundreds of ribbons (last count almost 300 and that was a year ago) and NOT the right shade of pink? LOL!

This card is darling and I agree, Nicole is genius. I have this set and just inked it last night. I am in love...

  12. What a cute, striking card!
I feel so frustrated with my lack of sentiment stamps as well. Will we ever have enough stamps.
You'd never know you needed more stamps.

  15. Stamps are like shoes .... you can never have too many!!

  16. If the sentiment were a heavier font, it would probably not fit so perfectly in that curve, and that's one of the things I so admire about your cards........the sentiments often are in unexpected places that are always just perfect. To me, this is another perfect card and without the sentiment it would be some other person's card but not the artist Susan's card.
